Don’t Be Stupid! Be Cupid!

by Aman on February 13, 2011

Dress Code For 14th Feb
Blue – I’m Free
Green – I’m Waiting
Orange – I’m Going To Propose
Pink – Accepted Just Now
Black – I Just Got Slapped!
White – I’m Booked
Yellow – I Just Broke Up
Red – Leave Me Alone!

Ah, College sure was fun, wasn’t it! For as long as I can remember, Blue was the only color I wore that day(Ok, Maybe Black once in a while). And so did most of my guy friends. Even the ones who weren’t single. You see, boys never change. It’s the only constant in the world. Apart from Tusshar Kapoor looking like a Jackass every time he appears on screen!

No, this is not a “I’m Single and ready to mingle” versus “I score every night” post. We singles, the world over, have already acknowledged the fact that we are the best ;). Hell, if Joey and Barney, those architects of some of the finest and corniest pickup lines in the world, acknowledge this fact, then so should everyone else!

No strings attached, no loyalties, master of your own mind! One can talk about sex openly without any dirty looks. Sample this conversation:

You: Did you have sex last night?
Friend: Yeah!
You: Was it Good?
Friend: Yeah!
You: Moaner?
Friend: Hell, Yeah!

In short, life is Awesome if you’re single 😛

But then again, being single has its disadvantages as well. We’re gracious enough to accept this. No, I’m not going to tell what they are, you better know it 😛 .

And what about those so-called couples who deny it saying “Oh but we’re just friends!”. Firstly, let me reiterate the golden rule of this planet or more aptly that of Sooraj Barjatya. “Ek ladka aur ek ladki kabhi dost nahin ban sakte!! Yeh to ek bahana hain tadpati raaton main bharakti jismon ki dhadakhti aag bujhane ka”. So you see, first you need to decide where your loyalties lie. Towards the ever-dwindling singles or the we-told-you-you’d-be-next couples.

All said and done, here wishing a very Happy Valentine’s Day to all my friends and to all those who read this blog but never bother to comment(Hint! Hint!). Go ahead, Fall in Love, either with the same person or multiple ones, over and over again. The key point being that everyone needs a little dash of love in his/her life. Although I do wonder what poor Cupid does once V-Day’s gone!

P.S: For all those ladies reading this post (I really am an optimist!) and for all those ladies amongst them who’re still single (Now do you believe me!), this is just to inform you that I’m still wearing Blue 😉
